This camera is the full frame, high speed, and able to function in the extreme low light camera.  This will be the 1st full frame Nikon camera that would be able to do hi-def video with interchangeable lens. 
There are too many features to mention, but just a few worth noting: The pictures does not get too noisy until about 12,800ISO. 
Battery life: approx 5000 shots.
Audio: there is an external outlet for your mic.
Image Sensor cleaning function can be set to operate automatically when the camera is turned on or off or manually. 
The reason of keeping 12MPGs, for this camera is targeted for advanced photographers to professional journalists. 
Canon has no comparable product, due to that the camera is a APS-H Canon EOS-1D MarkIV.
